At the present time, Bustout Burlesque and Bad Girls of Burlesque each perform once a month at House of Blues. ALL shows are listed on this website.
What is the age requirement to attend? 18+
Is there seating, and how much are tickets? Yes. For Bustout Burlesque, there is limited open seating and reserved seating. For general admission open seating, we recommend arriving early. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. If you do not get a seat, there are plenty of vantage points around the music hall where you can stand, lean, and watch the show, including the bar. If you would like reserved seating, there are three options: a front row, a sectioned off area set off to the side on the main floor, or balcony seating. General admission is $22 plus tax and fees. Reserved seating is $50 each.
Bad Girls of Burlesque is typically staged in the Parish Room, which is smaller, intimate theater at House of Blues. There is limited open seating and reserved tables. Doors open 1 hour before showtime. General admission is $20, and table seating is $30.
If you purchase a general admission ticket, you have the option to upgrade to a table once inside the venue. See the bartender to purchase an upgrade.
Are the 8pm and 10:30pm Bustout Burlesque shows the same show, or different? The two back-to-back shows are the same.
What is the difference between Bustout Burlesque and Bad Girls of Burlesque? Bustout Burlesque is a 1950s-style, classic and glamorous burlesque show that is backed entirely by a traditional jazz band. Bad Girls of Burlesque is a more modern and edgier show that utilizes recorded tracks. It’s a little more naughtier than Bustout Burlesque. However, both shows feature beautiful, sexy women and utilize creative costuming, props, and mood lighting.
Who attends your shows? Is it mainly men? No. You will find many couples attending Bustout Burlesque. It’s a perfect date night! There often seems to be more women in the audience than men. And we always have one or two bachelorette parties in attendance. That’s right, we said bachelorette parties!
Is there a dress code? No.
How can I audition for Bustout Burlesque? If you live in the New Orleans area, and are 18 years of age or older, email a photo (head shot and full-body shot) as well as any performance experience you have to firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, if you have any performance videos online (doesn’t have to be burlesque), send us a link. We hold local auditions periodically. If you are an experienced burlesque performer from out-of-state, and would like to be considered for a guest spot, you must send us a video link to a full performance. Since Bustout Burlesque is accompanied entirely by a live jazz band, your video submission should be an act performed to instrumental music, preferably jazz.
