FAQ

Do you have a schedule of upcoming shows? We get our dates confirmed about 1 ½ or 2 months prior to the show. As soon as we have a date confirmed, it is listed on the front page of the website. At the present time, Bustout Burlesque performs only once a month at House of Blues. ALL shows are listed on the website.

What is the age requirement to attend? 18+

Is there seating? There is limited open seating for our shows. We recommend arriving early. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. If you do not get a seat, there are plenty of vantage points around the music hall where you can stand, lean, and watch the show, including the bar. If you eat dinner at House of Blues, you can pass the line. Contact the restaurant for details. House of Blues does offer a limited number of reserved balcony seats for purchase. You can purchase these online or at the box office. There is also some reserved seating on the main level. These are 4 or 5 tables set off to the side. These tables can only be purchased at the bar once you are inside the venue.

Are the 8pm and 10:30 shows the same show, or different? The two back-to-back shows are the same.

Is this a non-smoking show? Yes. Smoking is not allowed inside the music hall. But smokers can step outside at any time to smoke, and then re-enter the music hall.

Is photography allowed? No, we do not allow photography or recording of any kind during the show.  However, you are allowed to take photos with the performers after the show. Normally, they come out for a meet and greet.

Where can we eat before the show? House of Blues has a restaurant. If you eat at House of Blues, and have a ticket to the show, you can pass the line and get in before general ticket holders! For late-night eating after the show, we like to walk over to Daisy Dukes (open 24 hours).  Another awesome place nearby is St. Lawrence Restaurant and Bar (also open late).

Who attends your shows? Is it mainly men? No. You will find many couples attending Bustout Burlesque. It’s a perfect date night! There often seems to be more women at the shows than men. And we always have one or two bachelorette parties in attendance. That’s right, we said bachelorette parties!

Is there a dress code? No.

How can I audition for Bustout Burlesque? If you live in the New Orleans area, and are 18 years of age or older, email a photo (head shot and full-body shot) as well as any performance experience you have to info@bustoutburlesque.com. Also, if you have any videos online, send us a link. We hold local auditions periodically. If you are an experienced burlesque performer from out-of-state, and would like to be considered for a guest spot, you must send us a video link to a full performance. Since Bustout Burlesque is accompanied entirely by a live jazz band, your video submission should be an act performed to instrumental music, preferably jazz.
